Hi, I’m Olivia Brooks, better known here as Mrs. Money Sidekick, your trusted guide for every big (and small) step along your financial journey.

Life moves fast. From your first paycheck to your first home, from saving for a wedding to welcoming a new family member, whatever stage you’re in, your money has to keep up, and I’m here to help make that easier.

I’ve always been passionate about money and personal finance. Even as a kid, I was the one carefully saving birthday money and finding small ways to stretch a dollar. That early interest led me to study finance and eventually to a career as a financial analyst, helping businesses make smarter financial decisions. Over the past 20 years, I’ve combined professional experience with real-world money management: budgeting in college, building savings early, investing through trial and error, and now balancing family finances as a stay-at-home mom raising two amazing kids.

While I write under a pen name to protect my family’s privacy, every story, lesson, and piece of advice you’ll find here comes straight from real experience: the wins, the mistakes, and everything in between.

I started tracking my expenses in college. At first it was just to catch fraudulent charges, but it quickly grew into a lifelong habit of budgeting, saving, and investing. If I could go back, I’d tell my younger self: start earlier, ask more questions, and remember that you don’t have to get it perfect. You just have to get started.

The truth is, finance is personal. It’s tied to our dreams, our security, and our everyday lives and yet, it’s often one of the hardest things to talk about, even with close friends and family. Everyone’s situation is different. Most people don’t feel comfortable sharing how much they earn, what they struggle with, or what their goals really are. And sometimes, that silence can make managing money feel isolating, like you’re the only one trying to figure it out.

I started Mrs. Money Sidekick because I believe you shouldn’t have to figure it out alone. Here, you’ll find simple, relatable, real-world money help, the kind of friendly advice you’d get from someone sitting next to you, cheering you on, not lecturing you from a mountaintop. No complicated jargon. No judgment. Just practical steps to help you save, spend, and grow your money with confidence. One smart move at a time.

I’m really glad you’re here. Let’s take this journey together and make each smart step a little easier, side by side.

On your side,
Mrs. Money Sidekick
